How to choose plywood

Plywood is a three-layer or multi-layer artificial board made by rotary cutting wood segments into veneers or planing wood into thin pieces, and then bonding them with adhesive. It is usually made of odd numbered veneers, and the fiber directions of adjacent veneers are perpendicular to each other.

As one of the three major artificial boards, even if we often cannot directly see or recognize it, it does not affect its repeated and intense presence in our daily life. From various furniture, buildings, and packaging boxes, to airplanes, ships, trains, and cars, it can be said to be "able to go up the hall and down the kitchen".
When selecting plywood, it is important to carefully observe whether the wood grain on both sides of the plywood is clear, whether there are scars or damages. A high-quality plywood is one that is smooth, smooth, and free from roughness.
Many plywood boards are made by bonding two different types of veneers together, and high-quality plywood boards are tightly and smoothly spliced without delamination. When making a purchase, it is important to carefully observe the sides and pay attention to whether the seams are tight and uneven.
Although the core of the board is located in the middle of the board, we cannot directly recognize it with the naked eye, but we can "hear the sound to determine the quality". When tapping on various areas of the plywood surface with your fingers, a clear and crisp sound indicates to some extent that the intensity is satisfactory. If there is a significant difference in sound between different areas, resulting in a low and dull sound, it indicates that there may be voids in the core of the board.
Plywood is a practical board made by laminating thin pieces of wood with adhesive, which is the main source of formaldehyde in the board. The quality of the adhesive directly affects the environmental protection of plywood.
So, please be sure, be sure, and carefully check the environmental protection level on the label, and choose environmentally friendly adhesives with low formaldehyde emissions. Qualified plywood produced by legitimate manufacturers must reach E1 grade, and some may even reach other E0 and Enf grades.
